Electrically operated directional control valves

In a directly operated valve, the energised solenoid moves the main spool. In a pilot-operated valve, the solenoid shifts a smaller pilot valve, which directs oil to move the main spool. Check the pilot pressure, drain arrangement and electrical specification for the selected model.

Yuken DHG hydraulically operated directional valves use a hydraulic pilot signal. They may be suitable where electrical operation is impractical or where the machine already provides the required hydraulic control signal.

Spool position monitoring can provide a signal indicating valve position. Its role in a machine's safety system must be determined by the machine's risk assessment and control-system design. A monitoring option alone does not establish the safety performance of the complete system.
